Plain-language summary: RouteRewind is a cinematic 3D route visualisation tool. It is completely free and standalone — every feature is available to everyone, with no account, no subscription, and no payment method required. Your routes are processed entirely in your browser and are never stored on our servers.

1. Who these Terms Apply To

By using RouteRewind ("the Service") at routerewind.com, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). The Service is operated by RouteRewind ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.

2. The Service is Free

RouteRewind is provided free of charge, with no subscription, no paid tiers, and no payment method required. Every feature is available to all users, including:

Unlimited 3D fly-through previews and video export (up to 4K)
All animation durations and camera styles
All three map styles (Realistic, Cyberpunk, Canvas)
Route customisation, story photos, and the route planner
GPX file upload from any device — no account or login required

The Service is provided without a time limit and without requiring a payment method. We do not guarantee that it will remain free indefinitely, but any change would apply only to future use and would be reflected in an updated version of these Terms.

3. Your Data

RouteRewind stores none of your route or GPS data on its servers — everything is processed locally in your browser.
Saved routes and preferences live only in your browser's local storage. Clear your browser data to remove them, or close the tab to discard the current route.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not use RouteRewind to:

Violate any applicable law or regulation
Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
Abuse the third-party map and routing services RouteRewind relies on (e.g. automated scraping of tiles or routing endpoints)

5. Intellectual Property

RouteRewind's code, design, and branding are our intellectual property.
Your GPS route data remains yours. We do not claim any rights over it.
Videos and screenshots you export are yours to use freely.

6. Third-party Services

RouteRewind relies on third-party services including Cesium Ion (3D terrain, satellite imagery and buildings), OpenStreetMap / Overpass (map data), and free routing & elevation providers for the planner. Each service has its own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for their availability or conduct.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the extent permitted by applicable EU law, we disclaim all implied warranties.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece (EU). Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Greece, without prejudice to your rights as an EU consumer to bring proceedings in your country of domicile.
